MLS Participant (Broker) Opening a New Office

To become an MLS Participant (Broker) opening a new office, you’ll need to fill out an application form available on the Metro MLS website. This form is a must for brokers opening a new office. Application forms received before noon are processed the same business day, while those received after noon are processed by noon the following business day. Fees include a $300 admission fee, $69 monthly dues per broker, and $39 monthly for each additional agent. Brokers need to be licensed with the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), hang their license with a brokerage, and join a local association. If joining an association outside the GMAR, Jefferson, Manitowoc, Southshore, Lakeshore, or Lakes Area, you’ll need to provide a letter of good standing from the chosen association to Metro MLS.

Subscriber (Agent) Outside Metro MLS Area

Agents outside of the Metro MLS coverage area will need to fill out a specific application form. The Metro MLS coverage includes Greater Milwaukee Association Realtors, Jefferson, Manitowoc, Southshore, Lakeshore, or Lakes Area. The same fees apply as for brokers: a $300 admission fee, $69 monthly for brokers, and $39 monthly for additional agents. Agents need to be licensed with DSPS, hang their license with a brokerage, join a local association, and provide a letter of good standing if not part of the specified associations.

Administrative Support Personnel

To register as administrative support personnel, just fill out the application form. After the initial admission, there’s a $5 monthly fee per assistant. As part of a new membership policy, all assistants need to have their own username and password.

Teams

To create a new team or change an existing one, fill out the application form. Teams are defined as two or more licensed agents working together within the same brokerage and marketing themselves as a team or group. There’s no registration fee, but there is a monthly charge for teams to cover administrative and maintenance work. Teams can add and edit team listings from individual accounts, and specific fields and columns are available in the Flexmls system to make management and reporting easier.

Tips for creating a successful brand-focused website for the Metro MLS

When it comes to creating a successful brand-focused website for the Metro MLS area, it’s important to understand the unique characteristics and needs of the local market. With a diverse range of cities and communities served by Metro MLS, agents and teams need to showcase their hyperlocal expertise to stand out from the competition.

One effective strategy is to create comprehensive area guides for the cities and neighborhoods you specialize in. These guides should go beyond basic information and provide valuable insights into the local lifestyle, amenities, and real estate trends. By showing your in-depth knowledge of the area, you’ll establish yourself as the go-to expert for potential clients.

Along with area guides, think about creating targeted content that addresses the specific needs and concerns of your target audience. For example, if you serve a community with a high percentage of first-time homebuyers, develop resources that educate and guide them through the process. By providing value and addressing pain points, you’ll build trust and credibility with your audience.

To further enhance your website’s user experience, make sure your design is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and optimized for mobile devices. Add engaging elements such as high-quality images, virtual tours, and interactive maps to keep visitors engaged and encourage them to explore your site further.

Finally, don’t forget the power of social proof. Showcase client testimonials, case studies, and reviews throughout your website to demonstrate your track record of success and build confidence in your abilities as a real estate professional.
